I truly enjoyed the whole story, so well documented and narrated. The scene at the movie was so realistic and made me think of how women are unfortunately still badly treated in many parts of the world even today, and the same goes for other categories of people. I doubt we'll ever be all equal one day, someone will always be "more equal" than others as Orwell said in another contest.

David's hand IS out of proportion,and his arm and the whole body does not make complete sense unless you think that Michelangelo was quite young when he completed it or that the statue was supposed to be seen from a different perspective.

I enjoyed the whole post but I would have loved to read more about Venice, my favorite city.
Mantova is charming and perhaps another time you could enjoy it more. The "Ravioli di zucca" is a dish straight from Renaissance, like the whole city, intact in its beauty.
Great post and superb drawings.
